We long or yearn for many things: in January we long for the warmth of June, and in June we long for the coolness of our air conditioning; when we hunger we long for food, and when we are full we long for our ‘fat pants’; when our schedules are full, we long for stillness, and in our stillness we find ourselves longing for activity. Life is certainly full of longing and of yearning! In Psalm 84 we will discover what it looks like to long for the right thing (God) and what happens to us when our longing is correctly placed.
