A Live Dog and a Dead Lion

A Live Dog and a Dead Lion

I suspect all of us could draft quite a list of things we know for certain, some good and some not so good. For example, children are a gift of the Lord, but will certainly complain about chores, cleaning their room, or homework; your car is necessary for transportation, yet you certain to need a mechanic at some point; for every opinion you have on a subject, it is certain someone else has one that differs; Cookie Co. cookies are fantastic but certainly not calorie free; indeed, certainty is affirmed and has its tradeoffs!
One of sobering certainties that Solomon reminds us of in this text is that of death. We can make every effort to delay it or bypass it, but these efforts will be vanity for as long as the Lord tarries. Therefore, it is prudent that we ask ourselves how we are to live in view of death, and that is exactly what Solomon helps us do.
Our message this week is titled “A Live Dog and a Dead Lion” and we learn what it is to live in view of death.
