Money is a big deal. From our first allowance as children, to our first paycheck in a real job, through all of our years as we navigate monthly bills, pay for a college education, get married, buy a car or home, or plan for a vacation or retirement, money is never far from our minds. It is also a topic that is a big deal to Jesus. In fact, Scripture references some aspect of money in over 2,000 places, so we know it is a big deal to our Lord and our Heavenly Father. The key for us is that it becomes a big deal for right and true reasons, which will be our sermon topic this week as we seek God’s truth regarding our financial resources. I will begin with the text of 1 Timothy 6:17-19 as we learn the truth about money.
