We have all had the conversation with someone that begins, “well, what do you want first? The good news or bad news?” I generally respond ‘give me the bad’ and in my sermon prep this week I observed the same about the verse we will use for our message First the bad news, then the good news: Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” As we will discover Sunday, the believer must be thankful that the story doesn’t end with sin, but rather, the grace of God.
