In this season of quarantine and pandemic, we have heard much discussion as to “essential” and “non-essential” business, activity, and events. This week I would like us to begin a discussion regarding the essential nature of the church, and how the church provides the only hope all the more in times such as these, times marked by despair, anger, protest, and pandemic.
