Do you like to win? For this very reason, there was a time when Gloria and I refused to play with our first born son, Eli. I know, you are probably thinking what horrible parents, how could they be so mean as to deprive their eldest child interaction with his parents, and so forth. But let me explain…Eli had developed a “Must Win” complex and in any activity or game we undertook with him, he absolutely had to win. It became so bad and the fits and tantrums so loud that it was easiest to simply refuse to play with him! Thankfully, that season was short lived, but it sure left a memory!
Fact is, we all like to win, and our message this week will focus on a battle fought and won by Israel against Amalek, and from it gain important lessons for winning our own battles and being on the winning team.
