Much emphasis is placed today upon personal security and protection. From seatbelts and airbags, conceal/carry, home alarms, security systems, “safe rooms”, Ring doorbells, to even the supposed Lady Gaga’s ‘invisible shield” at concerts, we are presented with but a few of the ways our desire for safety is manifested in our lives today. In no manner do I speak ill of any of these methods (although I would rather get bit by a dog than attend a Lady Gaga concert!), yet they do make for a good comparison as we draw attention to Psalm 91 and how the psalmist lays forth a template regarding true security and protection. By God’s grace this week we will discover this divine plan for maintaining security and protection through all of our years.
