Genuineness is a very important concept in our lives. I remember as a kid signing baseballs with the names of famous players and trying to pawn them off to unsuspecting youngsters on the bus. Don’t worry, they weren’t fooled and somehow figured out that the “Babe Ruth” and “Henry Aaron” signatures might not be real. The same goes for our faith. A fake faith is as easy to spot as is a genuine faith. This week’s message will take us through 1 Peter 1, a text that I very much enjoyed in my own quiet time this week, especially in view of its address to the “aliens” scattered through various parts of biblical Asia Minor. It is a text that describes what a genuine faith looks like and what it is built upon. The sermon is titled “Proof of Faith” and I recommend reading 1 Peter 1 at least twice prior to Sunday morning. Lord willing, see you then!
