As we gather together over the summer months we will be looking to the parables of Jesus in a series titled “Proclaiming the Parables.” Constituting at least one third of Jesus’ instructional activity, the parables were a primary method He used to teach the disciples and all who would listen, including us today, about Kingdom truths. We begin this journey in Luke 10 with the account of “The Good Samaritan”, and as always, it will be most helpful to read this text a few times in advance (vv. 29-37). And by God’s grace, we will learn that defining a neighbor must take second place to being a neighbor!
