Psalm 118:24 is a verse I draw upon often: “This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Whether the day or season you are in is ‘awesome’ or ‘awful’, each day is a new day in the Lord, and He calls us to rejoice in the midst of it.
Along this line of thought, I have been pondering much on not only “the day” but also the year God is placing before us. What are we going to do with it? What will our stewardship of it look like? For me, the question is “how will I lead in the new year” but I recognize that leading is only part of the equation. We also need to follow.
In this week’s message we will be looking at the new year from this perspective of leading and following. Our sermon is titled “Leading and Following in the New Year”, with Psalm 118:24 and its optimism and grace as our springboard.
