When we become aware of an upcoming event or activity, we generally are called to prepare in some manner. If you are preaching a sermon or giving a presentation, you will be doing research and building an outline in advance; if you desire to go to medical school, you will study hard for the MCAT; if you are a lady invited to the spring formal you will be shopping for a new dress and shoes; and if inviting guests over for dinner you will have readied a meal and cleaned the house. To not prepare is a good way to invite disaster.
Along these lines, our sermon will focus on Acts 21 and is titled “The Beginning of the End” where we will answer this question: How can we best prepare for whatever lies ahead? As these final chapters of Acts detail how Paul continues to witness for Christ, now as a prisoner and not a missionary, we will gain a glimpse from his life as to how he was prepared for anything!
