Have you ever had a nickname? Flattering or not, they generally reflect a quality, characteristic, or event in one’s life that tends to define you. Take my younger brother Craig for example; his nickname was “Boo-Boo” as in describing a child’s scrape or a bruise. Now for Craig, it wasn’t just a harmless scrape with relatively little pain, because his “booboo” came from always getting in trouble, for if anyone were going to get caught doing something stupid, it would be him! I will also admit I had a nickname, but you will have to listen to the message to learn more about that!
This message will focus in on the nickname applied to the believers in Antioch, and how that name came to be. As you prepare your own hearts for worship this week, please take time to read through Acts 11:19-30 and discover how we came to be called “Christians.”
